About the event
Led by Kim Keane, the 108 Salutations are a celebration of time. Celebrating the continuous rise and fall of the sun, the constant and life producing warmth of the centre piece of our universe - the Sun.
The Spring Equinox also called the vernal equinox. two moments in the year when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length; also, either of the two points in the sky where the ecliptic (the Sun’s annual pathway) and the celestial equator intersect. In the Northern Hemisphere the vernal equinox falls about March 20 or 21, as the Sun crosses the celestial equator going north. In the Southern Hemisphere the equinox occurs on September 22 or 23, when the Sun moves south across the celestial equator.
The act of practicing 108 Sun Salutations draws together some truly potent yogic practices:
Bhakti – devotion and Tapas – effort, heat, discipline and zeal.
An incredibly heating and cleansing practice we burn through barriers of the mind and body using focus, internal heat and determination.
Kim has taught the 108 Salutations many times and receives as much energy and joy from the gift of sharing this truly meditative practice as the practitioners themselves.
Saturday September 16th 10am - 12.30pm $25 a ticket.
